I am to interview someone of the Christian Church and I need to ask 10 questions?

by Admin on August 1, 2008

A W asked:

I already have three and I need seven more; here is what I have:
• What are the important holidays and traditions of this religion?
•How has religion shaped your life?
•What are the challenges, if any, to practicing this particular religion?
Any suggestions?

1. Easter and Christmas
2. It is not religion that has shaped me, it is a relationship with Jesus.
3. Giving my whole life to God, not just part.

I will comment more to your second question:

Religion in retrospect has done little more than give structure and organization to my developed Spiritual beliefs in the Biblical truths that they are based around.

Sure, how about..
Where will you be going when you die?
And….
Where WON’T you be going when you die?

If you go about asking “Christians” what they think of their religion you will make them upset!

Christianity is NOT a religion, but a personal relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As for your first question, it sounds a little lame.
I would start by asking what being a Christian really means to them…
If they understand the message of Salvation, what is the call they have in their life…

In other words: drop the “all around the person” approach and try to have more of a “around the Lord” approach. After all, we are called Christians because we follow Christ, not becasuse Christ adapts Himself around us…

This will give you an excellent opportunity to get some great answers about the various denominations within the Christian religion. Here are some questions that I would ask:

1. By what authority does your minister administer the saving ordinances such as baptism and conferring the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Heb. 5: 4
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron (see Exodus 28.1)

2. Do you believe that baptism is necessary and, if so, by what manner? (immersion, sprinkling, etc). (see Acts 2:37-38)

3. Do you believe that God still calls and speaks to prophets today? If not, why not? (see Amos 3:7)

4. Where did we come from? Why are we here on earth? Where are we going after this earth life. (three questions for the price of one).

That’s enough for now. I’ll check back to see if anyone else has helped you. Good luck.

As a Christian, do you think you will maintain relationship with your family after you die? Why or why not?
