Gold coins are very handsome items and collecting them goes back to when coins were first issued in pre-Roman Europe. However, it was only in the Middle Ages that the amassing of gold coins became a leisure pursuit amongst the aristocracy and merchants who could afford to save such valuable items for their beauty and historical importance alone.

Coin collecting in general is still a very popular hobby enjoyed by millions of people of all ages. School children all over the world have small collections of overseas coins. Later, that hobby might expand into collecting coins from one’s own country. For example, it is easier and less expensive to collect a cent or penny from every year in the 20th Century in your own country than a foreign country.

This higher level of collecting coins can later become an expensive hobby once one has started working and has more money to spend. One might choose to specialize in collecting gold coins from a particular period or of a certain denomination. Dollar and sovereign coins are very popular in this regard.

In the USA, gold coins were in circulation from 1838 to 1933. The first design was the Liberty Head Bust but this was changed in 1907 to the Indian Head and Saint Gaudens motifs, which were used until 1933. The difficulties posed by the Great Depression caused gold coins to be recalled to be melted down. This made them scarcer and therefore more valuable.

In the United Kingdom and other areas of Europe, gold was used for coins from before the birth of Christ and many exemplars of these Roman and Celtic gold coins still survive today. Gold is no longer used as currency in Europe either, although in the UK, a gold sovereign is still worth one pound. The design on the reverse is George and the Dragon, while the reigning monarch’s head is on the obverse

South Africa minted its first gold coin named the Krugerrand in 1967. The Krugerrand has no face value because it was not intended to be used as currency. It is made of one ounce of pure gold and is usually purchased solely for investment reasons. Since then other countries have also issued bullion or investment coins. For instance, Canada manufactured the Gold Maple Leaf in 1979 and Australia made the Nugget in 1981.

In the days of the Gold Standard, countries had to equate the value of their currency with the amount of gold they held in reserve. That meant that if a country printed paper money without buying more gold to back it, the value of the paper currency would fall in relation to foreign currencies.

Different countries came off the Gold Standard at slightly different time, but most of them dropped the standard in or around 1971.

Collecting gold coins is a first-rate pastime, but it should not really be seen as an investment, because old gold coins carry a premium to the value of gold within them. This value is sentiment and that can change rapidly. If you want to collect gold coins all well and good, but if you want to buy gold for an investment, then buy bullion coins or bars.

The practice of giving and wearing a wedding ring dates back thousands of years. A wedding ring symbolizes fidelity and love between two people and are given on the day of a couple joining forces. Before the time that the skill of how to work metal became extensively known, people used such things as plants, grass and even hair to ‘tie the knot’, which is what I think a wedding ring stands for.

These days a typical wedding ring might be made from precious metals such as gold, titanium, platinum or even white gold. Women’s wedding rings often hold a diamond, although sapphires are rapidly becoming more prevalent. Men’s wedding rings are frequently just a simple band of gold. There are many different styles of wedding rings, but the most popular for men is definitely the plain gold band.

For those who want something a bit more showy, there are plenty of alternatives on the market. A man might want a more ostentatious wedding ring, because it is often the only piece of jewellery that a man wears. Some alternatives to the plain band of gold are the Celtic Knot and the Claddagh gold rings.

It is essential for men’s wedding rings to be made from a robust alloy of gold. Most men do physical labour of one sort or another, even if it is only gardening, so it is a lot to ask of a pure gold wedding ring to last thirty or forty years.

A 14 or 18 carat gold ring will probably do it, but a 22 carat ring would not. It would just wear away because it is too pure and consequently too soft. Platinum or titanium are much harder, although most people prefer gold.

In most countries tradition dictates that people wear their wedding ring on their left hand, although in a couple of countries such as Germany, Russia and Norway, people wear their wedding ring on the right hand.

Some couples would rather have a unique wedding ring and that is not so hard to accomplish as it might first seem. The easiest way to personalize your ring is to have an inscription like names and a date engraved on it.

Another way, would be to buy a precious stone separately and have the jeweller set it into the ring for you. The best option though is to find a jeweller you can trust and have him or her make up a pair of matching rings to your own design. I have done that and it is not a lot more expensive than a good ring.

Wearing matching wedding rings is a remarkable experience. People see that your ring is ‘something different’ and many people ask, where you got them from. It all goes to help make that special day memorable for ever.

Looking for ways to relieve anxiety? Well the good news is that there are some easy ways to attain peaceful state of mind. All you need to do is to try out these techniques and stick to them. Remember, commitment here is the key.

Firstly, try to start doing exercise. It is a great way to reduce anxiety. However, exercising on regular basis is recommended. Otherwise, you will not see any change. Mostly what happens is that we make plans but do not keep to them. If you find your self exercising regularly like running and lifting weights quite a few times a day then rest assure that it will put you in a much more relaxed state.

Herbal teas are also documented to have a good effect especially teas with jasmine and chamomile. Therefore, trying out these teas can calm your nerves too.

If you are not much of tea drinking and exercising sort of a person, try to mediate. There are many testimonials that it is really beneficial. Some people might consider this technique as comical. This is especially true for those who have not mediated before. If you have tried all that you can, there is no harm in trying meditation. It cannot harm you after all.

Listening to music or better still taking up a musical instrument can also work wonders. Both of these help in distracting you from the situation that is causing anxiety because listening or playing music increase the brain arousal level.

All the above mentioned techniques have proven to be very effective. Bear in mind that for these techniques to be effective, you really need to show some commitment. Trying them and then leaving them for good will not get you anywhere. You will realize their benefits, if you consciously make an effort to keep at them.

At the end, wish you good luck with all these techniques. They are bound to make you feel much better.

A lot of vegetarians have stopped eating meat, eggs, dairy products and others due to one main reason - they have a deep respect for life. That is why they want to avoid all life forms from suffering because of them.

A lot of vegetarians have stopped eating meat, eggs, dairy products and others due to one main reason – they have a deep respect for life. That is why they want to avoid all life forms from suffering because of them.

Such reverence for all life forms leads vegetarians to live a life that is so restricted that non-vegetarians consider it extremes. However, for them, preventing any possible death for all creatures is a noble cause.

Beyond just a selective diet, many vegans also try to prevent death and suffering among creatures in other levels. For example, there are vegans who don’s support products made of wool in the belief that it is a factor in animal suffering.

There were instances that vegans point out the many years of scientists breeding sheep for the production of large amounts of wool for human use. This breeding program brought about the existence of the Merino sheep, a sheep breed that produces wool as much as its body weight.

This characteristic of today’s Merino sheep results to it having a lot of excess wool. This is very obvious if compared to sheep that die either because of too much heat or extreme cold.

Shearing wool from sheep is still somehow painful for them. The “skin wool”, which covers almost a quarter of the sheep’s total amount of wool is very close to the skin that tearing it off can’t be avoided.

If your being a vegan is motivated by ethical reasons, find time to think about this – Does wearing wool concedes my stand on animal cruelty?

For a number of vegetarians, putting on wool is just the same as eating meat. Meanwhile, for others, there is nothing debatable about it since they think it does not inflict suffering that is unreasonable. In which side do you belong?

There are many ways in which you can enhance your happiness. Some of them are detailed upon below.

First, remember that only you can make yourself happy. Therefore, pay attention to the good aspects of your life, and focus less on the negative stuff. Be happy, as Barney would also suggest.

Be the reason of someone’s smile. It is a proven fact that smiling reduces tension, enhances the working of the immune system, improve mood and makes a person look younger. Making someone smile will make you feel worthwhile.

Make time and go for a walk. Walking reduces the body fats, enhance brain functioning, improves blood circulation, controls the blood’s sugar content and helps do away with PMS signs.

Make fruits and vegetables a part of your diet. They are healthy and they help control the weight. Moreover, they reduce the chance of some cancers, chronic illnesses and strokes.

Spend your time reading. This improves your knowledge, distracts you from daily problems, enhances focus and increases your self esteem. Reading is awesome fun too.

Get in touch with your friends. Sharing lessens your burden. Friends are those people who are always there for you even when you feel left out.

Try and spend time with someone more than seventy years of age or under 6. You have much to learn from the elderly and their wisdom. The honesty, simplicity and care free attitude of children offers great respite from stress.

Spend your times playing games. Games are awesome fun, and they also allow you an opportunity to sharpen your skills, improve vocabulary, enhance critical thinking ability and meet new people.

Finally, make the most of your life. Remember you are only going to get your life once so enjoy it while you can. Live your life in a way that you have minimal regrets by the end.

One can create a closer relationship with God in several ways. Several spiritual practices can achieve this, particularly meditation and prayer. The Oneness Blessing, otherwise known as the Deeksha Blessing will allow the divine to connect to us spiritually. This is a gift, which is available to everyone.

A growth in consciousness is experienced when we use this benediction of grace. A growth in consciousness is experienced through a transfer of power and intent. This non-denominational experience transfers physical energy and awakens our spiritual connection with the divine in our day-to-day life. Interpersonal relationships with friends and family and loved ones will be improved, but more importantly, our relationship with our creator will be enhanced. We will be able to draw closer and experience more of the spiritual gifts that are available to us.

Neurobiological change takes place within the brain. There are 16 different centers within the brain that are used for different experiences, such as feat, hatred, jealousy, compassion, love, joy, separation, connecting, creativity and learning. The different positive areas are turned on and the others off. A shift in the perception of one’s life and experiences will result in these centers being activated and deactivated.

Furthermore, this can accelerate the process of healing. One is able to get past certain patterns that are harmful to one. When this occurs one becomes more accepting of one’s self.

By becoming more sensitive and connected, one will be able to enhance interpersonal relationships. Certain conditionings such as a judgmental spirit will be released. By raising the consciousness, one can bring desires to fruition. Better thought processes and understandings can be achieved. It gives one a deeper insight about the principles by which one is governed, as well as the universe.

By placing one’s hand over another’s head, one is able to deliver this blessing upon their life. The hand placement could take anything from a few seconds to a number of minutes to manifest. The blessing can also be transferred without any physical contact taking place. Therefore, words and intent will be sufficient to bless someone who is not physically present.

A oneness trainer is able to teach one how to deliver the Deeksha Blessing. One will be used as a tool by the creator to deliver the blessing to others. One will then be allowed to say this blessing over others. This gift is sacred and should be cherished.

Have you ever seen a golden rosary? They are not items you see every day, but they are very striking and they can be found if you look around.

Have you ever seen a golden rosary? They are not things you see every day, but they are very striking and they can be found if you look around. A rosary is a symbol of your faith, a method of doing penance and even a way of remembering who gave you your faith.

Because of the symbolic nature of a rosary, it does not matter at all what it is made from. However, if you like beautiful things, a golden rosary could be a luxury item for you, even though there is more risk of it being stolen.

You certainly would not want to have it stolen of course, but a valuable rosary is a beautiful object to have, like a golden business card case or an expensive fountain pen. It is not so much that it shows that you can afford one, it is more that it demonstrates that it is an important item to you. Something of significance. If you like writing, you want a good pen, if you want to give a good impression, you can have a good business card case and if you love God, you can have a lovely rosary.

However, you do not have to take it to church with you, if you are worried about being flash. You could only use it at home, if that made you feel easier. After all, you are not buying a golden rosary to show off to the world’s populace, just to illustrate your loyalty to yourself. The weight of a golden rosary seems to add solemnity to the proceedings, but that might be a personal thing.

However, you do not necessarily have to buy a gold rosary for yourself. You might buy one for a child or godchild in order to demonstrate how much you want that they will discover or uphold the faith.

You will have to go to a professional dealer who knows about gold rosaries. This is because if the beads are too heavy for the chain, the chain might not last long. The constant moving of the beads could either wear the gold chain thin too swiftly or just snap it.

That would be a crying shame, because you might lose one or more of your beads too and the beads on a gold rosary would necessarily be quite classy too. Replacing one or more beads might be tricky or even impossible years down the line.

A gold rosary would almost certainly become a family heirloom and be passed down for generations or even hundreds of years. It would be a great inducement for a young person to contemplate the important things in life.

Your church could give you pointers about where to purchase a gold rosary from someone that actually knows what the proportions of the beads to the chain should be. They will also offer you different purities of gold, usually 9, 14 or 18 carat gold and the beads could be anything from glass to pearls.

If you do go in for a gold rosary, get the retailer to attest to the materials used in its manufacture and the various weights so that if you have a problem, you have proof to show the insurance company.

It isn’t hard to learn how to enjoy life to its fullest potential. There are simple methods that work for almost any situation. But all of them take some time and effort. The key is read the below included list and take every word to heart to learn how to make it better.

Tips for a Better Life:

1. Enjoy what you do on your own time: When you are off the clock, don’t be distracted by the calls to work even more when you don’t have to.

When you are not at work, you shouldn’t be thinking about work. It is a simple rule to keep yourself sane and stress-free. Instead, do something that you enjoy for whatever small amount of free time you may have for yourself.

2. Get rid of stuff you don’t need: There are a lot of things you don’t need lying around your home, and odds are good that there is someone who would love to use it.

Clear up all that used space in your home and give someone else the opportunity to use all that stuff you no longer have any use for. It is the right thing to do.

3. Take some time for thought: You can just relax and meditate for a while and all your troubles will float away like so many clouds. It is just the thing to dissolve stress in your life.

Whether you actually set aside a half hour or just a couple of minutes, this is valuable time separate from the “free time” you set aside. This is the time for quiet reflection.

These are just a few of the keys to a better way of life, and you can follow them as you see fit. But they are good places to start for an awful lot of people. Some may choose to do all three, some may annotate their own ideas. In the end, life is what you make out of it, so do the best you can.

It can be very difficult to find beautiful and memorable corporate gifts. Many corporate gifts are just rubbish, especially the less expensive ones. However, there is a class of gift that is always treasured and can be thought of as useful too.

Have you always presented a calendar or a letter opener? Or a key ring, just like every other business does? Or a bottle of wine that is forgotten the day after it was opened? Well, there is hope yet. What about glass crystal? Everybody loves lead crystal, do they not?

Lead crystal items really are the bees’ knees of gifts, corporate gifts or not. People always need ashtrays, paper weights, and pen holders and made in lead crystal they look expensive and stylish adding to the image of your company.

Lead crystal goods are available in many kinds. They make fruit bowls, vases, glasses, paper weights, pen trays, ashtrays, picture frames and carriage clocks along with a dozen other items. When selecting a lead crystal corporate gift, you might like to bear the following things in mind:

If you are presenting these corporate gifts to your staff, you may like to differentiate between your employees or give everyone the same gift. You can on grounds of sex, length of service, marital status or input to the company’s profits. There again, you may know the longest serving personnel very well and want to get them something that will suit them personally. You can do this in terms of cost or style or both.

For example, office staff might like a lead crystal paperweight, pen-holder or picture frame. Blue collar workers may rather a lead crystal vase or bowl. Single people might play golf or sail and like an item etched with a golfing or sailing motif. Married people might love a picture frame or a vase. Long-serving personnel or high-earners might appreciate a carriage clock.

Cost is obviously an important issue, but usually corporate gifts are tax-deducible and glass crystal items differ greatly in price depending on the manufacturer. For example, you can get a nice lead crystal goblet set for $15, but if you want to give Waterford lead crystal, you can expect to pay three times as much.

Are you presenting these corporate gifts to clients or / and prospective clients? In this case, you will have to have them engraved with your firm’s contact details. You will also want the corporate gift to remain in the client’s office, so it should be office orientated, not home orientated. Something like a heavy paperweight shaped like a rock or a desk tidy fashioned like a boat.

This is the best kind of promotion after word-of-mouth and sign-written vehicles and should be taken seriously by any company that must have clients. Giving a well-thought of gift like lead crystal is a way of enhancing your reputation and that of the beneficiary.

The only other thing to keep in mind is that corporate gifts in lead crystal are valuable and need to be handled with care, so if you are having them inscribed, which you must do, then you will need to know how long it will take to get your consignment done and delivered.

You have to be willing to recover in order to recover. It sounds simplistic but it's true. Whatever the addiction, whatever the situation, you can do it, but only if you are willing to take the steps that are necessary.

You have to be willing to recover in order to recover. It sounds simplistic but it’s true. Whatever the addiction, whatever the situation, you can do it, but only if you are willing to take the steps that are necessary.

The basis of willingness to recover is being able to accomplish something without being forced and being capable of doing it of your own volition. That is instead of an outside force pressuring you to do it. There are seven factors for measuring willingness.

The Seven Factors for Determining Willingness to Recover:

1. Honesty: You absolutely have to be willing to be honest, with yourself and with the people working with you. You have to be willing to say that you have no power over your situation.

2. Action: You will have to be able and capable of working through the generic twelve steps program and do it without fighting against it. You may have to attend all sorts of meetings, but it’s worth it.

3. Trust: You will have to trust that the people around you, dictating your life for a while, are doing it with the best intentions in mind. They want you to succeed.

4. Follow the Program: You have to follow the rules of whatever program you are in. It isn’t up to you to make the decisions anymore, because your decisions will be harmful to your life.

5. Belief: You must be able to believe that you are going to succeed in whatever program it is that you are partaking of. You have to believe in a higher power that will help you get to a healthy place.

6. Willingness to Join: You must be able to join group interactions. There is no way to do this thing alone. You have to have the support of as many people as you can. There are people there for that.
