Gay lifestyles have always been recognized as existing, but their acceptance is something that has struggled through history. The last example of any sort of gay welcoming culture would be the Greeks and Romans and that was over two thousand years prior, with the world not rushing to recreate that sort of gay prevalence. Today, some countries are extremely welcoming towards gays, for example Canada which allows for same sex unions or places around the world that welcome gay tours.

In the United States, gay rights are debated across a variety of regions whose ideals shift radically based on culture and religion. Some cities are more gay friendly than others and some states, like Vermont, allow gay marriages that would not be recognized otherwise. Because America is a melting pot, the reaction to homosexuality runs the gamut, but it is still better than countries like Iran which punish gay lifestyles with death sentences.

While the world continues to debate whether gayness is genetic, those who are gay usually understand their innate sexual differences early in childhood. Going through puberty and into adulthood is difficult for many, but for young gay kids the transition can be especially troublesome due to a desire to fit in and so many will stay in the closet and not announce the world what they are. This is the troubling reality for many gay people.

Being accepted is, in a sense, easier than ever because of technology. Groups that identify towards one another can find solace and company online and this can be invaluable for gays living isolated existences in areas in which coming out is not a possibility. The Lesbian Gay and Transgendered (LGBT) groups that exist online bleed into the real world and allow for gays to think of a future in which they can be surrounded by others that are like them.

It cannot be underestimated the acceptance that a gay person feels walking into an all gay function. It is something that most straight individuals never have to think about. Getting this alone time with fellow homosexual individuals can feed the soul and so tailoring a vacation to be around other gay people can be the vacation of a lifetime. Gay tours travel all over the world and offer gays the chance to meet and celebrate one another.

Gay tours are fantastic travel opportunities that bring down any feeling of anxiety and create a travel itinerary that puts the emphasis on fun and experience, and not to whether where you are going it gay friendly or if you have to pretend to be straight. Gay tours can be something as simple as a cruise, or as elaborate as a trek through the Himalayas. You can experience every thing from spiritual enlightenment to a down and out party atmosphere – the choice is yours.

On top of having a wealth of experiences open to you, the travel manifest is also something you can have a say in. You can go on a gay tour with a combination of gays, lesbians, and their friends, or just with gay families, or just with other lesbians, or just with other gay men. Depending on your identity and preference, there is a tour waiting for you.

The world is a huge and expansive place with a variety of spots you should see when you have the chance. Being able to travel with our gays takes some of the psychological pressure off of you when you are out and about in the world. Take gay vacations and see what the world has to offer

There is a phenomenal vacation destination, filled with one-of-a-kind adventures and exciting locales. Its cities are urbane and vibrant, perfect for gay tours. It is a land of wonders so diverse, with natural and manmade settings so remarkable, it is almost indescribable. Where? Australia!

Australia is a welcoming destination for the gay traveler. There are activities to fit the needs of all travelers. Many gay couples and singles are heading for this beautiful continent.

In Australia, if you can dream it, you can do it! Consider visiting the native aboriginal culture. Journey into the Outback, where you can rough it; visit Kings Canyon, Kakadu National Park and the Devil’s Marbles. Or how about taking a nature tour for up-close study of koalas, kangaroos and whales? Gay travelers can visit the beautiful sandy beaches and enjoy scuba diving, sunbathing, boating, and glorious relaxation.

Visitors can swim with giant whale sharks at Ningaloo. In the Northern Territory at Darwin Harbor, you can dive World War II shipwrecks. In Tasmania you can hike national parks and ancient rainforests, home to interesting plants and animals.

No gay traveler can miss Melbourne, the second-largest city in Australia. This is a multi-cultural metropolis where Victorian and contemporary architecture blend seemlessly. In this very gay friendly city, you can spend time with the sculptures in Werrebee Park, shop to you drop at high-end shops or less expensive boutiques, go to first class theater productions, and then end your day with a visit to one of Melbourne’s hot clubs! Perfect for a gay romantic getaway too.

For gay travelers who enjoy driving, consider embarking on the Pacific Coast Touring Route and take in the lush and quaint scenery. But remember, Australians drive on the left side of the road! If that sounds too sedate, you can get your heart pumping during various water sports, such as river rafting or kayaking.

Australia is located in the Southern Hemisphere, so the seasons there are reversed from the season in the Northern Hemispere. In general, Australias coastal regions are warm and humid, while the interior regions are desert-like and dry, with blistering temperatures in the daytime that dip to freezing at night.

Australia has a very wide range of accommodations. From hostels to small inns for romantic holidays, to high end spa retreats and everything in between, making a gay adventure travel to Australia affordable, no matter what you budget might be.

Thoughts on Australia authored by Howie Holben. Spirit Journeys offers gay nude yoga and provides gay travel information.

There is not much free time in our daily lives, and so often we are multi-tasking throughout each day, that we can lose track of the important things in life. This is why our vacation time is so critical to our well-being and personal growth. Today, there are many vacation options available to meet these requirements.

You could take a vacation with just your immediate family or you could do typical group tours. But, you can also venture out into the world of vacationing with a group of people that have faced similar life challenges. For gay people, gay spirituality travel is a great option.

Being gay, we all have at least one thing in common. Vacationing with others that have had similar experiences in life can add to our time away. This commonality helps to form bonds within the group.

People we have just met can quickly become friends and confidants. This makes gay vacations all the more special and meaningful. We’re able to share our gay vacations experience with others that we know understand us.

This understanding helps us to relax and open ourselves up and allows us to be a little more vulnerable. When we’re relaxed and open, we’re able to go a little deeper into the vacation experience. This allows us recover from life’s stresses more quickly and more fully.

Taking it to an even deeper level, we can take gay vacations with people of similar intentions. Travelling with men and women that want to grow spiritually is one way to do this. Then not only do we share our gay spirit, we share goals for the vacation.

Gay vacations that include an exploration of the world and also an exploration of ourselves, can be very powerful. With the support of the others in the group we are able to let our walls down even further and live a freer life. And that’s why we took a vacation in the first place, to be freer of life’s responsibilities.

Spread composed by Howie Holben. Spirit Journeys produces gay retreats for gay travel groups and singles.

Gay travelers take vacations for a number of reasons, including the opportunity to meet new people, experience new cultures, see exotic places, take a break from the stresses of everyday life and to spend time with people that are special in their lives. Each vacation has some purpose, even if the purpose might simply be to lounge on a sandy beach and take some time away from the cares and worries back home.

Gay spiritual vacations are one example of purposeful travel that goes beyond the common quest to relax and rejuvenate and is undertaken with a specific awareness and intention. Whereas most travelers go on vacation with the goal to get away from it all, voyagers on a gay spirituality vacation embark on their journey with the intention to arrive in their special, chosen destination and to connect with the land, the people and the energy of that region.

Spiritual travel opportunities include solo conscious travel, couple’s retreats that allow you to reconnect and grow individually and together, and spiritual journeys taken with a group of like-minded seekers arranged by professional groups that organize travel to many spiritual destinations around the globe, such as Egypt, Thailand, New Zealand, India, Peru, the American Southwest and Mexico.

Individual pilgrimages are one option for spiritual vacations, but there are several benefits that come with choosing professionally organized conscious travel with a group of fellow seekers who can significantly influence the positive experience and spiritual growth you achieve during your joint journey. Professional companies that provide opportunities for spiritual travel have the information and experience needed to create powerful, meaningful personal voyages that will result in remarkable experiences that stay with the participants for the remainder of their lives.

Gay group vacations that are organized around conscious travel provide amazing group activities, travel to sacred sites and have the benefit of professionals taking care of the trip’s logistics, allowing participants to focus on the intentions they bring for their personal journey. Travel group organizers also forge relationships with the communities in the travel destinations, which provides unique opportunities for group participants to visit places and have experiences that are not readily available to those on conventional vacations.

Seekers who opt for gay spiritual travel with a group are gifted with the chance to connect with fellow travelers of a like mind who are also on a journey with the intention of experiencing spiritual awakening and renewal, or reconnection and centering. Traveling with a group gives participants the unique opportunity to learn from the experiences or others, share in group activities, discuss occurrences during this particular voyage, share their stories with others and form lasting bonds with new friends.

If you are in search of a purposeful, meaningful journey that focuses on having a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience that begins with the intention of personal growth and spiritual centering, you may want to consider conscious travel options when planning your next vacation. Going on a spiritual journey is an important part of self care and gives you the opportunity to reorganize your concerns and priorities, refocus your life and return to your everyday life feeling refreshed and centered.

Treat yourself to the opportunity to partake in a personal voyage focused on reflecting on your past experiences, learning to live in the moment and discovering ways to nourish your soul for a centered spiritual life. Participating in intentional travel is a fulfilling experience that can change your life and allows you to return home with the tools and intention of living every day centered, focused and aware.

Some ideas about planning gay travel by Howie Holben. Spirit Journeys is famous for incredible gay vacation spots and gay vacations for singles.

The nation of Bhutan is a tiny Buddhist kingdom tucked into the remote Himalayas between India and Tibet. Here, visitors will discover a rich way of life that has only recently begun to be exposed to modern mindsets and Western culture. This devoutly Buddhist country is home to a distinct culture that is based on age-old Buddhist beliefs and practices and maintains a solid footing in tradition. The government of Bhutan monitors tourism closely as national leaders work hard to protect the cultural heritage and pristine natural beauty of Bhutan, balanced with allowing the adoption of modern technologies and conveniences to enhance the lives of the Bhutanese people.

However, while Bhutanese culture may be traditional and conservative in many ways, the people of Bhutan warmly welcome tourists on gay travel tours, just as they do any other guest. The number of tour groups and tourists allowed to enter Bhutan each year is restricted by the government as part of an overall effort to preserve the cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty of this long-isolated country, so those who have the opportunity to venture into this mystical land as part of an organized tour group should take advantage of the chance to experience all that Bhutan has to offer.

The LGBT scene in Bhutan is non-existent, meaning that anyone planning a gay vacation to this remote mountain kingdom would certainly not be doing so in hopes of meeting up with a visible community or experiencing an established LGBT culture in this tiny Asian country. This, of course, does not mean that there is no same-gender intimacy in Bhutan; rather, it is a common and accepted part of the culture.

There is a noted level of bisexual behavior among men, most of who are either married to women or monastic monks, and this is not considered taboo. There is technically a very old law on the books in Bhutan that states that homosexual activity is punishable by imprisonment with the possibility of a life sentence; however, most residents are not even aware of this law and there are no records of it ever being enforced.

Partaking in gay travel in Bhutan is an experience that provides the opportunity to experience a community and culture that has been left relatively untouched by Western culture and offers an ideal environment for spiritual awakening or renewal. Bhutan gay vacations include opportunities to visit Buddhist temples, hike through the Himalayas and explore sacred sites.

To fully enjoy all that Bhutan offers, it is recommended that you plan your gay adventure travel tours to Bhutan very well. This will help to ensure that you are given the opportunity to discover the beauty and spirituality of this magnificent country, while respecting Bhutan’s natural and cultural richness.

Proposals for gay travel to Bhutan penned by Howie Holben. Spirit Journeys provides a gay weekend to remember and a gay adventure experience of a lifetime.
