Many people always wonder as when is the best time to head to Italy, the answer are that there is always a great time to head to this wonderful country. If you are a gay or lesbian couple then gay vacations to Italy is the perfect way to get away from it all and enjoy a lot of what this little country has to offer visitors.

This country has so much that it can offer people who have never been. When you first step in the country, then you will be overwhelmed by all of the different sights and sounds that the country offers with an open heart. People in Italy are some of the most welcoming people in the world.

Milan is one of the more welcoming cities that are in the country. There are a number of attractions that the city has to offer the guest that come to visit. These guest know what the importance of having plenty to do in a city is, there is nothing that will kill a romantic vacation, than a city that has nothing to do in it.

After you leave the city of Milan, then it is time to head over to Venice and take in the culture that is offered. You will be pleased at the number of gay friendly hotels that are offered. After check in, it is time to hit the town and see all that this paradise has to offer. If you are one of the lucky ones then your hotel is just feet away from the heart and soul of the city.

This is why Venice is such a popular site for a couple to head to when they are planning their trip. There are never any wrong reasons to make the trip to Venice to see all that it has to offer a visitor. While you are there make it a point that you take an authentic Gondola ride.

A ride in a gondola will be more than enough to rekindle any flames that may have gone out in the past. This is almost a must if you are a couple that is just getting to know one another, or if you are a couple that needs to remember why you fell in love in the first place.

A romantic trip may be just what is needed to get away from the stress that you have in your daily life. A romantic ride in a gondola will be quite helpful in making all of the stress and worry go away. These trips are meant to be cherished for a long time.

Gay tours to Italy are considered to be one of the more romantic trips that a couple can make.

When you visit Thailand, you may wonder why the rest of the world is not as accepting of the gay community as the Thai people are. During your gay vacations to Thailand, you will find that most people are Buddhist, and their sexuality comes without guilt. Many Thai people do not distinguish between gay and straight with a label, and whether you choose to love the same sex or the opposite sex is really no concern in Thailand.

Asian men will be friendly, as they very much want to meet the western man. They know a bit of English, so that they can communicate with you. And it may extend past the hotel room. You will find gay friends and nightclubs readily available to welcome you.

And if you are an aging gay, of either sex, you will be happy to know that the Thai people are not obsessed with you. Middle aged gays and older will find companionship easily. And you can find out about the local gay clubs just by asking around.

Many gay establishments were commercial, such as bars, saunas, and go-go clubs, until recently. Now the bigger cities have non-commercial discos, coffee houses, and bars. And for the truly enjoyable gay experience, visit a local go-go boy bar.

Although the gay community is obvious, kissing and hugging in public is looked down upon. A public show of affection in any way is inappropriate to the Thai people, and it is the same for gays as it is for straight people. If you do see two Thai men arm in arm, they are just friends and are not displaying any other type of affection.

Modesty is also an important trait of the Thai people. They will even cover themselves while changing clothing. This may even extend to the hotel room. It is best to talk about your special interests beforehand.

A lot of bars and night spots have drag shows that star what the Thai people call ladyboys. They are very popular, but usually cater to a straight crowd. In bars where you might find a man to take home for the night, this is a relatively safe practice, as the bars know whom they are hiring.

There are some additional cultural differences you should be aware of. For instance, you are expected to pay for everything. There is no such thing as going dutch. As the western man, you are considered the social superior, as strange as that may sound. Frequent compliments on your part are good. Dressing well, with pressed, long pants, and a dress shirt is respectable and appreciated. And be ready to have your cheeks sniffed, as this is a sign of affection. Sharing clothing, and even your tooth brush could happen, so do not sweat it. Be generous. And you will have the time of your life on your gay travel to Thailand.

Howie Holben gay holidays to Thailand tips. He is the owner of Spirit Journeys, a gay travel outfit. Spirit Journeys advances spiritual gay tours all over the planet.

Most people look forward to going away on holiday and a lot of people like to make complex plans and bookings. After all you frequently have to make allowances for flights and hotels. However, there can also be car, sightseeing and bicycle bookings as well, depending on the category of holiday you want.

As an alternative to a hotel, you might want to think about renting a private cottage. Cottage rentals are a good option to a hotel or guest house. In general, cottage holidays are self-catering, so you would have to be prepared to put in a little more work than if you went on an all-inclusive hotel stay. A small cottage on the coast in an isolated location would suit many people, but a vacation cottage on the coast might be better for others.

If you choose the right location, you can have whatever sort of cottage you want. Go to the coast if you like sailing or snorkeling. A seaside resort location would offer more night life most likely. If you want a quieter fishing vacation with canoing or boating, a quiet lakeside retreat would be more fitting. Then there are mountain retreats and several other levels of isolation and nightlife too.

If you would like to visit museums and other touristic sights, you should select a location near an appropriate city. It just requires a little forward preparation and thought.

We live in Wales and there are thousands of rental cottages of all kinds in all manner of locations. If you have a big family, you could hire several cottages close by each there and live in a kind of old fashioned village. There are also modern camps like ‘Center Parcs’ which have hundreds of very modern cottages in small groups of four or five so that families or friends can stay in a community together.

These modern cottages are very plush, with Jacuzzis, swirl baths, large flat screen televisions and all manner of entertainment equipment and satellite TV. The cottages are set in acres of woodland and wildlife is everywhere. There are deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels and dozens of types of birds including kingfishers, geese, ducks and swans.

The swimming pools are fully heated and go inside and outside into the woods, so that even in the middle of winter you stay warm. There is also archery, boating and hiking with many courses of differing hardship to follow. It is great to walk in the woods knowing that you cannot get lost with wildlife around every corner.

The wildlife is used to human company, so much or it is not scared and they come right up to you if you stop for a picnic. These holidays are not so cheap as going to a self-catering private holiday, but they are safe, particularly for young families.

You can come across cottage rentals through a travel agent, but you can also find them by searching in your local newspaper. These are some of the best finds because the cottages might be only a few hours drive away, but that is remote enough to make a big change. You do not really need to get on a plane to have a great vacation with a difference.

Options for gay adventure travel can be found throughout the world any time of the year. From skiing in the Chilean Andes or snowboarding at one of New Zealand’s several ski resorts, to trekking to the mouth of volcanoes in Iceland, Hawaii or Ecuador, there is truly no end to the available options for gay adventure vacations.

Whether your perfect getaway involves a demanding mountain climbing challenge, seeking out ancient ruins in rainforests or a more leisurely journey to view the statues on Easter Island, your ideal gay weekend or adventure vacation is accessible.

If you would like to plan a gay adventure vacation that includes volcanoes, rainforests, exploring islands and time on the beach, Chile, Hawaii or Ecuador are all great options. Although Ecuador is small, it is home to a variety of landscapes that include tropical coastlines, dense rainforests, the Galapagos Islands and volcanoes, such as the snow-capped Cotopaxi.

If you opt for travel to Chile, you will be greeted with opportunities to see the Mirador de Chepu Penguin Colony, ski the Andes, explore Easter Island, trek up volcanoes, or visit the desert landscapes of the Torres del Paine National Park in the vast Patagonia region.

If a gay weekend adventure will fit your schedule better, you may want to consider a short vacation to one of the islands of Hawaii, where you will find a plethora of outdoor adventure options, as well as more leisurely pursuits, such as dining, shopping and entertainment, on each of the major islands.

Like Ecuador and Chile, Hawaii is home to spectacular coastlines, verdant landscapes, lush rainforests and an active volcano. There are also breathtaking cliffs, waterfalls and canyons, a coral reef that is ideal for SCUBA diving or snorkeling, beaches of black sand and the snow-capped Mauna Kea.

Heading to Iceland is another popular option for those in search of exciting gay adventure vacations. Iceland is home to numerous opportunities for outdoor adventure, including kayaking, bird watching, whale watching, rafting, ice climbing and hiking. If you visit the island of Grimsey, you can also pick up a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle, while back on the mainland you can explore volcanoes, visit the largest glacier in all of Europe or take a swim in the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon that shines with a fluorescent blue hue. Additionally, there are always the verdant jungles of Brazil, the volcanoes of Bali or the vast array of adventures to be had in Australia’s Northern Territory, particularly in the North End.

Wherever your adventurous side leads you, you are bound to have a wonderful trip when you choose any of the variety of destinations offering enticing options for outdoor fun. Your vacation can be even more rewarding if you choose a destination that also offers options for leisure activities or relaxing days on the beach or by the pool. Your best bet when planning a gay travel adventure is to take part in a professional tour, which is the ideal way to ensure an exciting, safe, memorable excursion.

As most individuals enjoy going on vacation, so too individuals in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered community. However, going on such a vacation can often be far more challenging for these individuals than it can a family going on regular vacations each year. This is because, while there are places which are more accepting of individuals on gay vacations in the USA, there are still a number of areas which such individuals may wish to avoid due to both attitude and hate crime rates in relation to same.

Such travel guides tend to offer information on areas which may be safer than others, as well as those which one may wish to avoid due to high incidents of related crime. In doing so, the publishers of such guides are also helping these individuals in regards to having a low stress vacation while away from the acceptance and comfort in areas where many call home. For, in addition to the information on various neighborhoods, these guides also provide detailed information on clubbing, lodging, restaurants and other gay friendly activities going on in and near the destination one has chosen to visit.

So, whether going on a gay cruise, spending a weekend at a gay resort, or simply staying at a gay oriented bed and breakfast, generally one can find great accommodations and activities through such guides. In addition to these guides, a number of which are available at local and national booksellers, other listings for a variety of activities directed at the gay community with regards to leisure and vacation can also be found online.

Whether one desires to purchase a book or find a local business offering such vacations online, one may want to verify the business is still in operation and contact a local better business bureau to determine if there have been any complaints against such an establishment. This is because sometimes, while one may advertise a business is gay friendly, others have not always found such to be the case. Therefore, if one knows such information in advance, one can prevent a repeat by selecting another more appropriate choice for such a vacation.

So, if one plans accordingly, based on knowledge about such a business, one can avoid any surprises which may be waiting at a preferred destination of choice. By doing so, one can also plan ahead with regards activities and lodging in the area along with finding a number of restaurants which not only cater to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered community but which also offer foods which one may require in relation to any dietary restrictions.

For, while the gay community has made a great deal of progress when it comes to acceptance overall, there are still areas, especially within the United States, which are still bigoted toward both the gay community and other alternative groups. Therefore, doing research with regards to such locations can also help one avoid staying in areas which may not be as safe as others. This is especially true when it comes to individuals who identify as being part of such a community.

However, if the States were smart, the States would pass laws applying the same equal rights with relation to gay marriage as others have done. For, in doing so, the States can increase their levels of tourism by promoting equality and acceptance for all. Something, States which have passed gay marriage laws have seen through an increase in associated tourism. To this end, many individuals seeking to go on vacation, often focus on the States which now have the option of gay marriage available on a legal basis, regardless as to whether one desires to get married on such a vacation or not.

So, if one is going to be taking gay tours in the USA, one need do their homework with regards to the cities and States which are more accepting and welcoming in order to have a fun, healthy and safer vacation than one might experience in other areas which are not as welcoming. Regardless, when does their research in relation to such vacations, one can generally find a great number of activities, lodging and travel options which cater to the gay community as a whole.

Gay lifestyles have always been recognized as existing, but their acceptance is something that has struggled through history. The last example of any sort of gay welcoming culture would be the Greeks and Romans and that was over two thousand years prior, with the world not rushing to recreate that sort of gay prevalence. Today, some countries are extremely welcoming towards gays, for example Canada which allows for same sex unions or places around the world that welcome gay tours.

In the United States, gay rights are debated across a variety of regions whose ideals shift radically based on culture and religion. Some cities are more gay friendly than others and some states, like Vermont, allow gay marriages that would not be recognized otherwise. Because America is a melting pot, the reaction to homosexuality runs the gamut, but it is still better than countries like Iran which punish gay lifestyles with death sentences.

While the world continues to debate whether gayness is genetic, those who are gay usually understand their innate sexual differences early in childhood. Going through puberty and into adulthood is difficult for many, but for young gay kids the transition can be especially troublesome due to a desire to fit in and so many will stay in the closet and not announce the world what they are. This is the troubling reality for many gay people.

Being accepted is, in a sense, easier than ever because of technology. Groups that identify towards one another can find solace and company online and this can be invaluable for gays living isolated existences in areas in which coming out is not a possibility. The Lesbian Gay and Transgendered (LGBT) groups that exist online bleed into the real world and allow for gays to think of a future in which they can be surrounded by others that are like them.

It cannot be underestimated the acceptance that a gay person feels walking into an all gay function. It is something that most straight individuals never have to think about. Getting this alone time with fellow homosexual individuals can feed the soul and so tailoring a vacation to be around other gay people can be the vacation of a lifetime. Gay tours travel all over the world and offer gays the chance to meet and celebrate one another.

Gay tours are fantastic travel opportunities that bring down any feeling of anxiety and create a travel itinerary that puts the emphasis on fun and experience, and not to whether where you are going it gay friendly or if you have to pretend to be straight. Gay tours can be something as simple as a cruise, or as elaborate as a trek through the Himalayas. You can experience every thing from spiritual enlightenment to a down and out party atmosphere – the choice is yours.

On top of having a wealth of experiences open to you, the travel manifest is also something you can have a say in. You can go on a gay tour with a combination of gays, lesbians, and their friends, or just with gay families, or just with other lesbians, or just with other gay men. Depending on your identity and preference, there is a tour waiting for you.

The world is a huge and expansive place with a variety of spots you should see when you have the chance. Being able to travel with our gays takes some of the psychological pressure off of you when you are out and about in the world. Take gay vacations and see what the world has to offer

We tested ourselves and committed to drive from Oklahoma to California and back in a two week period. We traveled 1001 miles in just one day, which anyone can tell you was quite a feat. We were planning to do a gay Grand Canyon trip along the way.

Rowing with the guides is for those looking for a bit more adventure since the guide will bring you through some of the rapids. Or you can do it yourself and paddle. Although the trip still requires a guide, they are the steers men while the extremist paddles through some of the wettest and roughest waters imaginable.

The entire adventure from Lee’s Ferry to Lake Mead is 275 miles and takes 17 days to complete. The cool thing is though, if you chose this course all the rafting companies offer food, tents and all the supplies you need to enjoy your extreme camping adventure. I would definitely do this with my children considering all the things I missed when I went back in 2001.

83% of those that visit are from the United States while only 17% are travelers that have come from other countries. There are three ways for a traveler to view it. You can stand on the rim and look down into it. But do be careful people have been known to fall from such heights while viewing the canyon.

While camping things to look out for; there are muskrats that live in the area however they are extremely rare. One might come across a beaver or antelope squirrels. You will be able to see loads of pocket mice. And at night a distant howl of a coyote is common.

There are signs posted that show a well fit man walking into the canyon. The sign reads: Each year we rescue hundreds of people from the canyon. Most of them look like him. Or for the more extreme traveler there are rafting trips that will take you on a 17 day rafting adventure through some of the wildest white waters in the United States. – Although one can go for the 2 hour rafting trip which is the one I took.

Gay rafting, with such stunning views and wild life to see, no wonder why the Pueblo people considered the canyon a holy site and made pilgrimages to it for clarity on spirit walks. Many of these ‘walks’ have left their mark on the faces of the canyon. I know that when I went in 2001 I missed a lot of cool things to see.

Gay Grand Canyon whitewater rafting is an amazing experience of a life time. If you ever get the chance to do it then you should. There are so many breath taking views and it shows only the finest of all creation. It is a thrill, but it is also awesome in its splendour.

Pointers offered by Howie Holben. Spirit Journeys recommends gay Grand Canyon rafting and gay Grand Canyon tours.

Chile is a wonderfully unique place for gay vacations that allow visitors to ski the Andes, explore volcanoes, relax on pristine beaches, and hit the clubs in Santiago’s gay district all in one day. The vast and varied landscape and landmarks of Chile include arid deserts, the Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, the statues of Easter Island, the Elqui Valley of La Serena (long rumored to be associated with extraterrestrial activity), the Mirador de Chepu Penguin Colony, and old-world churches and architecture throughout the country.

The uniqueness of Chile’s natural, cultural and historic attractions provide the opportunity to plan a variety of gay trips including adventurous excursions trekking through breathtaking Patagonian landscapes and exploring ancient island cultures, ski or snowboard trips to world-famous Andes ski resorts like Valle Nevado, pilgrimages to visit churches and experience the deeply entrenched Catholic influences throughout the country, family beach vacations in Vina del Mar, wine-tasting tours, or trips centered around the bustling nightlife and rich culture and history of Chile’s capital, Santiago.

While Chile will certainly not soon be mistaken for a bastion of gay rights, the macho Chilean culture that is deeply influenced by the military and Catholicism is slowly becoming more welcoming to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The center of gay culture in Chile lies in Santiago, where folks on a Chilean gay vacation will find the most acceptance and the highest concentration of gay-owned and gay-friendly establishments. The Barrio Bellavista, a trendy neighborhood with quaint cafes, shops, eateries and clubs is home to the majority of Santiago’s gay clubs, bathhouses and hangouts. While you will not see rainbow flags hanging from balconies or couples holding hands walking down the street, you will see gay magazines displayed in newsstands and couples enjoying espresso at cosmopolitan sidewalk cafes.

A night on the town in Bellavista or anywhere in Santiago generally begins with dinner around 9 or 10pm, as is customary in many Latin countries. In Bellavista, a night often begins at a gay-owned restaurant, such as Capricho, a well-known Spanish eatery, followed by dancing or drinks in local gay clubs and bars. Bellavistas gay clubs range from the usual fare expected in most larger cities, to bawdier options with live sex shows, and partying often goes until the sun comes up. Santiago also has several saunas (bathhouses), including one trendier, slightly more expensive option with mostly professional clientele. Folks considering visiting Santiago’s saunas should keep in mind that Chile, like the U.S., is struggling with HIV and should always remember to play safely to ensure a safe gay vacation.

Santiago’s central location in this long, narrow country makes it an ideal choice as a home base for exploring all that Chile has to offer. Because it is also the most welcoming location as a gay travel destination, Santiago is a popular choice for gay vacations. When planning a gay vacation to Chile, working with a travel agency well-versed in gay tours in this region will assist you in designing a memorable vacation that is safe, fun-filled and meets your travel needs whether you are traveling as a group of single friends, a couple or a family.

Howie Holben gay journeys to Chile ideas. He is the owner of Spirit Journeys, a gay meditation retreat enterprise. Spirit Journeys suggests spiritual and gay trips throughout the world.

Considered as potential market in recent issue for tourism, gay tourists are finding their way towards contributing revenue in the destination market. So the reason why gay travel to Switzerland will give you the hint of why is this such.

Switzerland, a country which may be so small in the map, is really considered as one of the most tourist hunt countries in part of Europe. It has various remarkable spots to choose from. A tourist can have great time wandering around for a holiday there. Without a doubt, no bunch of tourist could resist its stunning beauty. And that doesn’t exclude the number of gays having these special tours that are intended for gays alone. A bus can take them for departure Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Prague, Amsterdam and also Vienna. The prices would only take them $100.00 and up to $3,000.00 above.

Can you now conclude their population to be generating market revenue? That is the record for Switzerland tourism alone.

There are lots of great spots in Switzerland to visit. That glorious snow-capped Alps, those breath-taking mountainside villages and the pristine valleys are just one of the few. Plus the fact that they can travel with professional gay tour guides, it will surely give them that unforgettable travel observing cultures of Swiss.

No more judgments from the eyes of co-tourist, right? It will make them comfortable for the company and nobody is going to offer them the questioning eyebrow of why have they chosen such lifestyle. If you will try to ask someone from this tour, the same story of wonder will be explained to you. And if reading will be your key towards getting answers from this question, then Switzerland gay journeys will suit best.

Going back 1970, the subject has been to many debate because others doesn’t accept homosexuals. They are having law conflicts like for marriages and people; in general, don’t see them like normal individuals. But the law for anti-discriminatory justified them. And yet, it does not assure them that all people will look at them with respect. Rejection will be present at times, no one can avoid that. With these society norms, a doubtful image can still be thrown towards the gay population.

As such, they have opted for those gay vacations packages like that in Switzerland. Though this, gays can taste the word holiday rather than mere pronouncing it. What more could be nicer in a tour than being comfortable and to feel that you are safe with the same minded people like you do?

The result for their want of having their personal lives respected is this. It had offered them the freewill not to experience hardships of transferring from place to place. They will be guaranteeing their delight for what a vacation should be. Gay destinations to Switzerland won’t be a bad idea for a trip after all. In is in fact such a good idea to get away from your stresses sometimes.

South Africa has long been a gay tours destination, even before it became a human rights frontrunner with the abolition of apartheid, having the first constitution in the world that outlaws discrimination based on sexual orientation and becoming the fifth country worldwide to legalize same-sex marriage. Of course, after these landmark events, the interest in traveling to South Africa significantly increased in both the gay and straight communities. Today South Africa is the most accepting and gay-friendly country on the African continent with a growing gay culture that stretches from the pristine beaches of the Western Cape Province to the exciting, fast-paced lifestyle of Gauteng and is an increasingly popular gay vacation destination.

Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria are popular stops during South Africa gay vacations and each offers a variety of gay-friendly and gay-centered activities, establishments and events. Gay men who enjoy the scene will be particularly pleased with the vast array of establishments that cater exclusively to gay men, such as luxury guest houses that provide lodgings exclusively to gay men, the famous bathhouses found in Cape Town and the private, all-male nude bar, Camp David, in Pretoria. Gay culture in South Africa revolves largely around the gay male community; however family travelers and lesbians will also find a plethora of exciting opportunities for gay vacations in this country that is rich in history, culture and beautiful landscapes, including several organized tours that are gay-friendly or cater specifically to the gay and lesbian community.

Gay men and lesbians who prefer a gay tour centered around gay events may want to consider visiting South Africa in September, which is gay pride month and includes several pride celebrations and events, including the Out in Africa South African Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, which brings more than 16,000 visitors to Cape Town and Johannesburg each year. Or, in December, gay travelers to Cape Town can join more than 10,000 international visitors attending the Mother City Queer Project annual costume party. Cape Town is also home to two beaches that are widely popular among gay men, Clifton’s Third Beach and Sandy Bay nudist beach, as well as a gay village with numerous gay-friendly and gay-owned businesses and eateries in Green Point. Local publications serving the gay community, like Outright and Exit, can be picked up at various locations and provide up-to-the-minute information on gay goings on and the best bars and restaurants.

Any gay vacations to South Africa must include indulging in the plentiful options for dining in gay-friendly establishments like Johannesburg’s Bellgables Country Restaurant, where travelers dine in a refurbished farmhouse on a 21-acre farm; Cape Towns award winning Emily’s, which offers South African cuisine in a fine dining environment, as well as both beer and wine bars; or gay-owned Lola’s, a vegetarian caf in Cape Town with a bohemian feel.

Working with a travel agency that is accustomed to planning gay tours to South Africa will help ensure that you get the most from your gay travel experience and that you have the information you need regarding where to go, what to see and which areas may have certain safety concerns for gay travelers.
